It's so nice you've found me! If you're as passionate about beautiful, natural products as much as I am, you are definitely in the right place. Hi, I'm Makila! I'm an Australian living in Switzerland together with my husband we are raising our two boys. I am a qualified Beauty Therapist who has always loved experimenting and making my own natural products. So many products on the market are full of harsh chemicals that are toxic. Recent years of stress called me to review things in my life. I turned to essential oils and wellness at home to help me cope. This along with my desire over the years to create my own products led me to take a leap of courage and faith and start my business 'Akuna Florals'.
My aim is to bring you peace and relaxation to your mind, body and soul with natural, chemical free products that are handmade with love.

Meaning behind the name
I searched long for a name with meaning and I wanted something that showed my Australian heritage. I came across a word from an Australian indigenous dialect it was 'AKUNA'. This word means 'flowing water' and 'moving forwards'. At a time in my life when things seemed to be crumbling, this meaning fitted me perfectly. I wanted to focus on moving forward in a positive way and not being stagnant. I want to encourage you to think of flowing water; keep moving forward, it only needs one step at a time. Take that step towards your dream, never give up.
